Fall Learning

Happy Fall Everyone!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted something you can use in your classroom or educational setting.  So what have i been up to lately?

I've been traveling to various trainings and conferences .  I must say that many of feel pumped and energized to attend and once we are there we are so overwhelmed with information that we become mentally exhausted or as i like to say it a road block and our brains can no longer absorb anymore information.

Take aways from some of my trainings:

Special Education and the Law:  There are many things that require detail and specificity when it comes to writing IEP's and providing services to students.  This is the area in the 9th circuit that gets us in trouble processes and procedures.  More to come on this and how you can help make a difference.

Preschool:  It's some important to work with our staff and parents to provide the best preparation to our children.  Preschool plays a huge role in kinder readiness in our state.  I am excited to be working with such amazing staff this year as we provide instruction in Early learning and prepare our children for kindergarten.  We will strive to be a cut above the rest.

I also had the privilege of attending a Los Ninos conference in Spokane where i gained knowledge on understanding behaviors and how to seek out Functional Behavioral Analysis services for students that may be entering preschool and our educational systems that may be in need of these services to identify as educators how to best serve our children in schools and do so in partnerships with parents and outside agencies.

More on teacher evaluations on the next blog entry.  Learning and giving feedback using the 5 dimensions of Teaching and Learning produced by the University of Washington.
