Hello Everyone

I want to start off my apologizing, because it has been awhile since i have posted about the life of a principal.  I want to take a shift this year as i have switched administrative roles and now wear many hats (which i love because as many of you know i enjoy play dress up for this runway we call life) and so i will be sharing ideas, things to consider and ways to support teachers, students and parents this year.  Please feel free to leave comments.

1st hat is called Special Education:
I as asked to create a mission and passion statement this year which is posted on a wall in my office.  It reminds me each day why it is critical for me to learn about sped and the law so that I can work with staff and parents and advocate for our student's who with the help of school, family and caring adults can reach their full potential and contribute to our world in many ways in which we cannot fathom yet.

2ndly,  Evaluate and Support Special Education Staff
is to work with special education teachers and support the work they do each day for our students.  I commend them for their patience, creativity, and ability to multi-task in order to create specially designed instruction for students.  In the last four years in my role i have had the privilege of meeting and working with so many talented and amazing special education teachers.

And i will end this post here.  I will add more on other topics as i learn about them and come up with my crazy ideas on how to make them more efficient and effective and as always to improve teacher craft and student achievement.
