February Take-Away's

Hello Friends

What an amazing weather pattern we’ve had here in the state of Washington.  I would like to share a few take-a-ways from the week. I would also, like to share some tips for getting things in your lesson plans that will help you get the student results you are looking for.

By the way, have you thought about your End of the year Evaluation?  Are you considering a job change?  If not this is the time to start thinking about your passions, and what you want out of your career.

Best Quote I’ve come across:  “When you apply for a job interview for a boss not a job because your boss will determine your future success”.

When planning lessons in Math and ELA a great resource to understand what common core standards say, and how to teach them.  This book has been a go to for me.  I’ve taken strategies and ideas and put them into practice.  (Listed below)

The Common Core Mathematics Companion: The Standards Decoded
What They Say, What They Mean and How to Teach Them.

I would also like to recommend a book written by a Professor I took classes from Chad Lochmiller.

An Introduction to Educational Research, Connecting Methods to Practice.

So, until next time stay passionate, set your goals high and believe that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Your Friend,

Esmeralda
