Spring is in the air and its the middle of March

State assessments are being administered to students and as teachers we are receiving vague data.

So the questions my team has at this point are:
1. What does the data tell us about our students?
2. Why doesn't the data correlate with other data given at the building and classroom levels?
3.  How can we teacher transferable skills to students as they tackle these new tests on google chrome computers?

What cool offerings would you like your school to consider for the 2015-16 School Year?
If you have not done so yet, have you talked to your building principal about events, assemblies or field experiences for students so they can be published on your districts websites or calendars that go out to the community.  Now is the time.  Step up for your grade level teams and most importantly for your students.

If funds are an issue or you don't have time to get away for a work conference or inservice consider...
1. Teaching Channel videos
2. ASCD videos or Pod Casts.
3. Principal Center has many videos and free webinars
4. Reading Side by Side is offering many local conferences in Washington that can give you many strategies to apply in the classroom, when it comes to tackling texts and incorporating vocabulary as part of your teaching craft.

Looking to start a new chapter some Tips

1. Update your Resume
2.Practice for interviews with a fellow colleague or friend.
3. Approach your supervisor for a letter of recommendation and give them a heads up if you are applying online so they can fill out the online references in a timely manner.
